The older girls have been selling baked goods at their church to raise money for a nursing home in Antigua called "Cabecitos de Algodon." All the girls always laugh and say "awwww" when the name is mentioned because it literally means "little heads of cotton." I'm not sure whether to think it's a reference to old people and white hair, or....old people and cotton heads?
Anyway, I got to go with them today to the grocery store to spend the money they've earned, and then to visit the home.
It was fun watching them take ownership of the project and find joy in serving others.
